What is Meditation?
Meditation is a journey of self-discovery and a great way to achieve inner peace. Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn said “Meditation is the fine-tuning of your mind to bring us into a balanced state, in harmony with ourselves and our surroundings.” Through meditation, we achieve balance for our wellbeing. We become healthier, more focus, more in-tune with ourselves and eventually people around us feel our calmness and the harmony within us.
By practicing meditation, we learn to pay attention at the present moment by simply focusing on our breath. It is simple to learn but not that easy to achieve. With a daily practice of 5 to 20 minutes, you will eventually feel the change within yourself.
What are the benefits?
Numerous studies have shown that regular meditation can have benefits such as:
- Relaxation and stress relief
- Improved sleep quality
- Lowered blood pressure
- Increased effectiveness in managing physical pain such as headache, backache, etc.
(Some scientists believe that meditation is more effective than drugs!)

- Enhanced sense of calmness and positivity
